BlockPos objects - Makes location handling easier, right? Well, after you rewrite everything that has anything to do with locations.

Some blocks ended up crashing the game for no apparent reason.

Any metadata related code has to be redone - worldgen, entities, item interaction.

Blocks have states instead of metadata - Again, HEE has about 50 blocks, so all those need to be redone.

All block and item rendering, including stuff like fireballs and thrown potions, also has to be changed.

Blocks and items are now json - HEE has about 110 of those in total, and they all now require 1-3 json files.

Let's just take a look at all the changes I've encountered while trying to update:

For a big mod like Hardcore Ender Expansion, that's a death sentence because the majority of the code is affected.

Well, here's the deal with 1.8, from a modder who was going to update a large mod (and even has a build that starts without crashing), but ultimately decided to skip it and wait for 1.9.ġ.8 changed way too many things for a single update.
